Saucy Chocolate Pud

Ingredients |

110g butter

200g caster sugar
|

2 eggs
|
|
 |
200g s/r flour
|
|
 |
25g cocoa powder
|
|
 |
150mls full fat milk
|
|
 |
For the topping
|
|
 |
85g cocoa powder sifted
|
|
 |
170g light muscovado sugar
|
|
 |
600mls very hot water |

1. Pre heat oven to gas mark 5/190c.
2. Lightly butter a shallow oven proof dish (approx 2 ½ to 3 pints). Cream butter and sugar together, add the eggs beat well and sift in the flour and cocoa powder. Add the milk. Combine and pour into the prepared buttered dish.
3. Mix the muscovado sugar and remaining sifted cocoa powder together and sprinkle over the pudding .Gently pour over the hot water to cover and bake for approx 35/40 minutes , or until the pudding has risen and set on top and the bottom is saucy.
